Refocused Quote + Reflection – April 8, 2026
“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” — Viktor E. Frankl
This powerful idea from Viktor Frankl, written while he was imprisoned in Nazi concentration camps, reminds us that no matter what happens around us, we still hold the power to choose how we respond. In today’s fast-moving world, that small space between what happens to us and how we react is where real refocusing begins. It’s not about ignoring difficulties — it’s about reclaiming our inner freedom one mindful choice at a time.
Educational Moment: Viktor Frankl developed his theory of logotherapy after surviving the Holocaust. He observed that those who found meaning even in suffering were far more likely to endure and eventually thrive.
Today, how can you create a little more space between stimulus and response — perhaps by taking one conscious breath before replying or reacting?
