San Antonio has a little bit of everything happening this weekend.
From the opening of a massive new indoor entertainment destination and an after-dark water park experience to live country music, lucha libre, dinosaurs, local markets and exhibitions celebrating Texas culture, August 29 and 30 offer plenty of reasons to get out and explore the city.
Here are some of the events worth putting on your weekend radar.
Taroko Sports Celebrates Grand Opening in San Antonio
One of the biggest new entertainment attractions in the city officially arrives Saturday.
Taroko Sports is opening its first San Antonio location at Park North, and the new facility is reportedly the company's largest U.S. venue.
The roughly 31,000-square-foot entertainment center combines batting cages, pitching areas, HitTrax swing suites, mini bowling, electronic darts and arcade games.
The grand opening begins Saturday, August 29 at 11 a.m. MySA reports that the first 100 guests will receive a play card with an hour of free arcade time and a commemorative T-shirt.
The venue is also promoting 50% off games throughout the opening weekend, along with live DJ entertainment.
For families, sports fans or groups looking for a completely new San Antonio hangout, this may be one of the weekend's most interesting openings.
AquaGlow Turns Aquatica Into a Nighttime Water Park
Summer isn't leaving quietly.
On Saturday night, Aquatica San Antonio hosts another edition of AquaGlow, an after-hours water park experience filled with colorful lighting, music and nighttime attractions.
AquaGlow transforms the park with illuminated water attractions, glowing environments, music and dance areas.
Visit San Antonio lists Saturday, August 29 as one of the event dates, while organizers say AquaGlow continues on select Friday and Saturday nights through September 5.
If you've already experienced Aquatica during the daytime, this is designed to be a very different atmosphere once the Texas sun clocks out.
Dinosaurs Take Over the San Antonio Zoo After Dark
San Antonio Zoo has an especially busy Saturday planned.
The zoo lists Dinos After Dark for August 29, giving families an opportunity to experience its massive animatronic dinosaurs at night.
The dinosaurs are part of Zoorassic Park, the zoo's summer attraction featuring 22 large animatronic dinosaurs throughout the grounds. Zoorassic Park continues through September 7 and is included with standard zoo admission.
Saturday also brings Beastly Breakfast: Gorilla Rise & Dine, a special experience connected to the zoo's new Congo Falls gorilla habitat.
That gives families the option of starting Saturday with gorillas and finishing it with dinosaurs. Not exactly your average weekend itinerary. 🦍🦖
MaskedMania Brings Lucha Libre to Tech Port
Professional wrestling fans have a Saturday night option too.
MaskedMania comes to Boeing Center at Tech Port on Saturday, August 29 at 6 p.m.
The event brings lucha libre-style wrestling to the San Antonio venue, adding something completely different to a weekend already packed with concerts and family attractions.
Boeing Center at Tech Port is located at 3331 General Hudnell Drive.
Spend the Morning at Pearl's Weekend Markets
For something slower, local and easy to build a morning around, Pearl Farmers Market remains one of the city's strongest weekend traditions.
The Farmers Market runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with more than 50 local vendors featuring produce, foods and locally made goods.
On Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Pearl shifts toward its Makers Market, featuring more than 40 local artisans and makers.
Both markets are free to attend and take place rain or shine.
Add coffee, breakfast or lunch at Pearl and you've basically built half a Saturday or Sunday without trying very hard.
Aztec Theatre Has Entertainment Both Nights
Downtown's Aztec Theatre has programming on both Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, August 29 at 8 p.m., Mexican actor, writer and speaker Odin Dupeyron presents ¡A Vivir!.
Then on Sunday, August 30 at 7 p.m., Mexican singer Edith Márquez brings her Eterna e Inolvidable show to the theater.
Ticketmaster currently lists both performances as part of this weekend's San Antonio entertainment schedule.
With the Aztec sitting just steps from the River Walk, either performance can easily become a full downtown evening with dinner before the show.
Texas Country Takes Over Floore's
If country music is more your speed, the historic John T. Floore's Country Store in Helotes has two significant shows this weekend.
William Beckmann performs Saturday, August 29 at 8:30 p.m.
Then Charley Crockett performs Sunday, August 30 at 7:30 p.m.
Floore's has been part of the Texas live-music landscape for generations, making these shows a strong option for anyone looking for a classic dancehall and Texas-country atmosphere just outside San Antonio.
Selena Forever Remains on View Downtown
For a quieter cultural stop, Briscoe Western Art Museum continues its special exhibition Selena Forever: Siempre Selena.
The exhibition features large-scale photographs of Selena Quintanilla-Pérez by San Antonio photographer John Dyer, including images from 1992 through 1994 that document a critical period in Selena's rise to stardom.
The exhibit continues through January 4, 2027, so this weekend is not the final opportunity to see it, but it provides a strong indoor option for visitors spending Saturday or Sunday downtown.
The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
A Weekend With Something for Almost Everyone
What stands out about this weekend isn't one giant festival dominating the calendar. It's the variety.
You can start Saturday morning shopping local at Pearl, spend the afternoon checking out San Antonio's newest entertainment venue, watch lucha libre in the evening and still have an entirely different Sunday built around museums or live music.
Families have AquaGlow and the San Antonio Zoo.
Music fans have William Beckmann, Charley Crockett, Edith Márquez and other performances across the area.
Culture lovers can explore the Briscoe.
And anyone curious about something brand new can see what Taroko Sports is bringing to San Antonio.
