San Antonio voters decided to reelect Mayor Ron Nirenberg with the incumbent taking a lead in early voting with more than 54,000 votes. Greg Brockhouse, who pulled just over 32,000 votes, conceded the race early in the evening.

“We have been blessed to serve out City and we are thankful for our family, our friends and every supporter who helped us and voted for us along the way,” Brockhouse shared in a statement. “I have always said you don’t need to be Mayor to make a change in your community. You only have to care. We have cared and gave it our best shot. Congratulations to Ron and Erika as they continue their service to San Antonio.”

As of 8:45 p.m. less than 2,000 votes separate a clear winner in the results for Prop B, the measure that would repeal the San Antonio Police Officer Association’s collective bargaining rights.

Bexar County also voted on Proposition A, which approves amending the city’s charter to allow the city to use bonds for “any public purpose.” Residents overwhelmingly approved the proposition.

The election also decided the following city council seats with incumbents Dr. Adriana Rocha Garcia (District 4), Melissa Cabello Havrda (District 6), Ana E. Sandoval (District 7), Manny Pelaez (District 8), and Clayton Perry (District 10) securing their seats.

Run offs are expected for several district seats.
