An upcoming 5K will not only give San Antonians an opportunity to not only get in a bout of exercise, but also remember a local teen who lost his battle to cancer last year.
The inaugural 5K, to be held on Saturday, July 24, is the latest way the Bryce Strong Foundation is honoring the life of Bryce Wisdom. The Judson High School student touched the lives of San Antonians in his fight against kidney cancer. Wisdom passed away in July 2020 at the age of 17.

The event will also feature local food trucks and a live DJ, letting participants celebrate the community that centered around Wisdom both in his life and his death. The Bryce Strong Foundation, which brings awareness to adolescent cancer, has held events and been present at other initiatives honoring Wisdom since his death.
Interested locals can sign up for the BryceStrong Walk, Run, Have Fun 5K now through Thursday, July 17. You can register and pay the $39 fee here.
